Pdp Governors’ Forum Issues Communique, Calls For Review Of Federal Government’s Macro-economic Policies

The Peoples Democratic Party (Pdp) Governors’ Forum Held Its First Meeting Of 2025 In Asaba, Delta State, And Issued A Communique Addressing Various National And Party Issues.
The Meeting, Attended By Governors Of Pdp-controlled States, Reviewed The Performance Of Member States And The Nation As A Whole, As Well As Developments Within The Party.
The Forum Commended Governors Of Member States For Implementing Policies And Programs That Have Improved The Lives Of Citizens And Created A Foundation For Sustainable Development.
However, It Noted That The Federal Government’s Macro-economic Policies Have Inflicted Hardship On Nigerians And Called For A Review Or Rejigging Of These Policies To Alleviate The Suffering.
Key Resolutions:
– National Secretary Dispute:
The Forum Reaffirmed Its Support For The Court Of Appeal Judgment On The National Secretary Position And Advised The National Working Committee (Nwc) To Implement The Court’s Decision.
– Nec Meeting:
The Forum Advised The Nwc To Reschedule The National Executive Council (Nec) Meeting To March 13, 2025.
– Security:
The Forum Commended The Country’s Armed Forces And Security Agencies For Their Efforts In Securing The Nation But Expressed Concern Over The Resurgence Of Non-state Actors And Called For Strengthening The Nation’s Security Architecture.
– 2027 Elections:
The Forum Assured Nigerians That The Pdp Remains Committed To Returning The Country To Its Pre-2015 Era Of Manageable Costs Of Living, Security, And Unity.
The Forum Also Expressed Gratitude To The Host Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, And The People Of Delta State For Their Hospitality And Commended The Governor’s Administration For Its Achievements In Infrastructure Development, Environmental Remediation, And Insecurity
