Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has handed over three abducted children to their parents, following their rescue from child traffickers. The children were stolen from Bauchi and sold to Anambra State by unscrupulous elements.
Governor Mohammed condemned the activities of child traffickers, describing them as “men of the underworld” who prey on innocent children. He commended the security agents, the Bauchi State First Lady, and her Anambra State counterpart for their collaborative efforts in rescuing the children.
The governor charged parents to ensure proper upbringing and monitoring of their children and wards, while also calling on community leaders to ensure proper supervision and monitoring of residents to prevent future occurrences.
Governor Mohammed emphasized that justice delayed is justice denied and directed that those found wanting should be decisively dealt with in line with the law. He also announced that the state government would provide financial support to the families of the rescued children to ensure their upkeep.
