In A Bid To Tackle The Rising Cases Of Child Abduction And Trafficking, Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, Has Signed Executive Order 002, 2025.
This Move Comes After A Recent Incident Where Seven Children Were Rescued From A Syndicate Operating In The South Eastern Part Of The Country.
The Governor Commended The Efforts Of The Nigerian Police, Airport Authorities, And First Ladies Of Various States In Recovering The Abducted Children.
He Emphasized The Need For Community Leaders To Supervise And Protect Their Communities, While Urging Parents To Be Vigilant And Keep A Close Watch On Their Children.
Key Provisions Of The Executive Order:
– Landlord-tenant Verification: Landlords Are Required To Profile And Verify The Identity Of Prospective Tenants Before Renting Out Their Properties.
– Community Due Diligence: Tenants Must Present Themselves To The Community Head For Due Diligence.
– Transport Union Verification: Public Transport Unions Must Verify The Identity Of Persons Traveling With Children And Minors, And Report Any Suspicious Conduct.
Governor Mohammed Expressed Hope That The Implementation Of The Executive Order Would Improve The State’s Ranking In Terms Of Doing Business And Attract More Investments To Boost The Economy.
He Emphasized The Importance Of Community Trust And Insurance, Highlighting The Need For Collective Responsibility In Maintaining Security And Safety.
